just from watching the in game video it looks like a new updated version of x-wing vs. tie fighter ,,,which was a decent game itself,,,,but it was also free to play.


But it would be something to check out looked good anyways :)

dude you nevber played x-wing vs. tie fighter that was the shit in multi player back in the day...i still have the disc's and the packages it came in ,,it was the shit back in the day,,maybe even the first game that brought in all this multiplayer bullshit

There is another space MMORPG coming out in June. I've been waiting for this one for 2 years.

The dev team for this game is mostly made up of programmers from the tie fighter series and the freelancer/ wing commander series'

X-Wing:Alliance is still going strong in multi-player for free. These graphical upgrades are incredible.

I bought XWvTF the day it came out, and it was some of the best space shit ever. I haven't played much XW:A on-line, but I will when this upgrade is finished.

I have always liked space fighter games. It's just like a game of mech, in 3D. This one looks like the kind of game I play for that reason. With the cool cockpit views, customizable weapons and ships. I

The biggest thing for me is real-time combat. I tried this crappy Eve MMO, and it was all point and click, auto-attack, not aiming or firing or even piloting your ship. There is a shit-ton of sci-fi MMOs on the way over the next few years. Star Trek, Star Wars, StarGate, Warhammer 40K but most of them will be regular RPG games... I am looking for something I can drive with a joystick and dog-fight. :)

It's not mechs, but it's a first person sci-fi vehicular action MMO... which is about as close as we are gonna get to a Mech MMO in the foreseeable future.

I have been looking at JGE too, Gate. I sent Shady a link to something about it the other day. Looks like even he could meet those system requirements. It will be out well before this one, so I'll definitely check it out at launch... but I won't be expecting too much. It is an updated version of an old game I didn't enjoy, but it looks like a lot of improvements. Unfortunately the engine is pretty old, so the graphics capabilities are limited.

Crimson Skies was a great game. I had it on the old XBOX, but never tried it on-line.

I loved crimson skies too. I played the PC version for about a month... but it's launch was unfortunately timed with Mech4's. I tried the xbox version a few years later and wasn't crazy about it.

Anyone ever play any of the X3 games? Their only downside is being exclusively single player. Otherwise, great space games.

I have X3: Reunion but really haven't gotten that far into it. For whatever reason (ADD?), it didn't hold my attention. I also had some issues with my X-52 not working properly. I haven't checked for updates in a while, I'll give it another go.
